Nippleless completion technology
With a nippleless completion, the production string has no restrictions; there are no permanent diameter restrictions, such as restrictive nipples, to limit access to the producing zones. As a result, mechanical tools can be run through the tubing and landed in the liner to perform workover tasks.
A production bridge plug can be set anywhere in the production string without locating in a seating nipple. Production bridge plugs can run and retrieve through the subsurface safety valve since this is generally the only restriction in the system.

The packer-type design makes the tool capable of setting anywhere in the tubing string without requiring nipples for location. It can be set on slickline, electric line, or coiled tubing and retrieved on slickline. The design accepts various devices, such as a blanking plug, check valve, choke, instrument hanger, and tubing-conveyed perforating gun hanger.
These high-performance, equalizing components allow communication between the tubular and annulus for circulation or selective-zone production in a completed oil or gas well. When desired, the sliding sleeve can be shifted open or closed using standard wireline methods and a B-type shifting tool. The tool is designed so any lock profile and compatible seal bore can be specified to accept a wide range of wireline locks and accessories.
Sur-Set top/bottom no-go and selective-seating nipples
The AF, HF, and Extreme type lock assemblies are top no-go style locks. With a no-go shoulder located just below the locking dogs, these locks will land and lock flow control devices in the AF, HF, and Extreme type top no-go seating nipples. Lock selection should be compatible with the size and model designation—based on designed pressure rating—of the selected seating nipple.
Model H bottom blanking plug is a positive blank-off device for sealing off pressure from above and below. This plug is for wells when sand or sediment may be encountered.
Waterflood flow regulators are simple, flexible, and cost-effective for controlled water-injection operations. They regulate water volumes accurately with minimal pressure drop. This allows fluid to be injected into multiple isolated zones through a single tubing string. Each zone is isolated with either a hydraulic-set or mechanically set isolation packer.
Fluid is injected down the tubing and through each water injection regulator before proceeding into the casing annulus where it can enter the perforations. The regulators operate independently at each isolated zone to control the volume of fluid allowed to enter each zone, regardless of injection and zone pressures. The regulator compensates for differential pressure changes and maintains a constant volume into each zone.
Models BF and BE full-opening downhole regulators maintain full-open tubing throughout, regardless of the number of downhole flow regulators used in the tubing string because they are mounted outside of the tubing. The full-opening downhole flow regulator is installed as an integral part of the tubing string. These regulators reduce personnel cost for surveillance and adjustment while eliminating frequent replacement of expensive parts and materials.
Models BF AND BE surface flow regulators replace traditional manually controlled needle valves and meters. The Model BE surface flow regulator with slide throttle should be used at higher flow rates while the Model BF regulator with face throttle should be used at lower flow rates. The BF regulator is less susceptible to plugging by solids.
Model D ported bypass seating nipple is a top no-go or selective seating nipple designed with an internal ported bypass seating nipple to accommodate accessory wireline equipment. When the Model DSJ downhole flow regulator is installed in the Model D bypass ported nipple, a regulated amount of injection fluid is diverted through the ports and into the annulus. The remainder of the fluid is bypassed around the regulator and down the tubing for controlled injection into several zones through a single tubing string.
DSL AND DSJ downhole flow regulators offer a simple, economical, and efficient method for individually regulating volumes of fluid injected into multiple zones through a single tubing string.
Model RF downhole flow regulator is a wireline device used in side-pocket mandrels. This device is typically used in waterflood applications to control the injection rate individually to multiple zones. The regulator, landed in the side-pocket mandrel, allows flow to enter from bottom first and exit from the side. This helps to prevent plugging, a major failure of downhole regulators.
